03/26/2015 #05 - The other major accomplishment the past week is that they have pretty much completed leveling the floor out with fill dirt. In addition to the more than 20 cubic yards (“yards”) of fill they got from the footing trench and under the stage, they trucked in ten dump trucks of dirt of 23 yards each; that's over 250 yards of dirt total. That is equivalent to a 15 foot tall lump of dirt that is 15 feet wide and 30 feet long! All that just to level out a gentle slope of the floor. You can see from the marks in the dirt how much they have run the compactor over it to insure a secure foundation when they pour the new concrete floor next week. |
